Gym Leader Layla's Journey (Lore)

Layla left Cozypoint City as a young trainer, excited to explore the world, catch Pokémon, and develop her voice as a romance writer.
Early in her journey, the shy young woman was reading through her latest story with envy, musing to herself aloud: "I wish my life was like the romance novels I write."
Unbeknownst to her, the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi was listening in and decided to grant her wish. From that day, her life became a series of sapphic meet cutes and whirlwind romances any time she'd arrive in a new region.
By the time Layla returned to Cozypoint, she did so with a little black book full of old flames, situationships, and long-distance girlfriends across the globe. She also returned with the experience and Ice-type Pokémon team necessary to earn her a spot as the city's Gym Leader!
Now recognized as an Ice-type specialist and a renowned romance novelist, Layla spends most of her days in the Cozypoint Gym & Cafe, working on her next book, flirting with baristas and trainers, and accepting challengers looking to earn her coveted Comfy Badge.

Sara was a Fire-type Trainer Layla met early on in her journey when writing a Rivals to Lovers romance. They took to each other immediately, connecting over their Eevees. They even traded Ice and Fire Stones to help each other evolve their Vulpixes. Layla has a Kantonian Ninetales charm that she keeps to remember Sara now that they're Gym Leaders in different cities.

Shookybell
Layla has a notorious sweet tooth, and the demon baker won the trainer's heart with her charm and her treats baked with love. Shooky may be scary to some, but she's very soft with Layla, who knows how to keep her Yandere in check with affection, praise, and cute romantic stories. Shooky's bakery provides the baked goods for Layla's cafe gym.
